Snapshots of Me Book

This is a 6 page "All About Me" type book with a camera theme for kindergarten and first grade students to complete. Each student can draw their head/face on the cover, or you can add their photograph. Either way, it personalizes their book and makes it cute! Students can complete one page a day and they will have a completed book in a week. Each page has a box for a picture and some pages have a sentence to complete. The books can sit on students' desks at Open House or Back to School Night or be given to parents at Parent-Teacher conferences. What a cute keepsake!

Older or advanced students can use multiplication, addition and subtraction to play. The game is for 2-4 players. All they need to play is a deck of Boo! cards and a pair of dice. I suggest you print the cards on cardstock, a thicker paper, and laminate them for years of use.

Easy Recipe- Pasta Bake

I found this recipe in a magazine in a doctor's office and had the receptionist photocopy it for me. It's very easy and fast to make, and it's yummy. The best part is that you can hide some veggies in it and your kids won't even know they are there! This is my version of the recipe:

Pasta Bake
Make 1.5 cups of elbow macaroni according to the directions on the box. Drain the macaroni when it's done. Put it back in the pot and add:
1 jar of spaghetti sauce
8 oz. tomato sauce
1 cup cooked and pureéd broccoli
1 cup cooked and pureéd cauliflower
1 cup shredded Mozarella
2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan
Mix well and then put it in a 2 quart baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.
Add 1cup shredded Mozarella cheese on top. Bake at 350 degreees for 25 minutes or until heated completely.  Enjoy!
